Awning Canopies / July 22, 2019 / Claire Raymond
Whether metal or aluminium vinyl or one of the dozen or so fabric types awnings have acquired a well-deserved niche among the different shades that most of us employ to complement our homes and places of business. Awnings are much more preferable to canopies and tents for instance when the area is against a structure or on the side of a building. This is because of two things: first having an awning is structurally more sound compared to a canopy because it is attached to the wall or a concrete structure; and second it only requires half the framing of a traditional canopy which saves space and eases installation. Fabric awnings in particular are superior to the other types depending on the environmental conditions in their area of use. Generally they are the most versatile type and can handle multiple situations.
Special events such as weddings and birthdays may also be held in one of these structures. These patios also serve as architectural design to add style to your home s landscape. Yet much as patios provide both comfort and style they need shades and covers. This is where patio awnings are used. Pergolas which are shaded pathways may also be great sources for patio shades. What are Awnings? Patio awnings of course are made specifically for patios. Awnings refer to the actual cover used for these patios. They are often made a canvass of acrylic yarn and at times vinyl. These are laid over wood steel iron metal aluminum and other light materials. Awnings are purposely lightweight to allow sunlight when needed. Unlike permanent roof these coverings may be folded retractable and carried around.

Outdoor designs have combined the qualities of nature with the comfort choices and integral detail of the indoor space designs. Outdoor design is being greatly influenced by the indoor design standards raising the overall design concept of the home. Outdoor space is defined shaped and limited by environmental structures like landscape areas fences patios gazebos arbors trellises and furnishings. The outdoor usable patio area when enclosed by a weather proof roof is further defined as a open room rather than an open space and also extends the usability of the patio during inclement weather.
