Awning Canopies / July 31, 2019 / Candy Calderon
For one thing awnings and commercial shade structures are all about making a first impression. Remember that long before a restaurant patron has taken their first bite of bread or sipped their first cocktail they ve already surveyed the exterior of the building. Does your restaurant fit the neighborhood? Does it stand out in a productive and meaningful manner? And is the restaurant s signage appropriate for the space? Failure to pass these basic tests may mean a loss of business - something no restaurant owner wants to see happen. Awnings and canopies are ideal ways to invite a positive dining experience. Awnings are both functional and promotional items. On one hand they protect patrons from the elements providing a measure of wind shield shade during sultry summer evenings and of course protection from rain and even snow.
Picture guests relaxing at your hotel or resort on a warm summer day while sipping an ice cold soft drink and cocktail concoction. Factor in the additional luxury of an awning canopy or cabana and the patrons experiences will be pleasantly enhanced. Decadent dreams of covered convenience are just steps away once you know how to properly select an awning canopy or cabana for your facility. Although holiday fanatics across the country are still discovering Christmas tree pine needles hiding behind the couch and nibbling on Valentine s Day candy it is not too early to start preparing for the impending spring/summer vacation season. In fact since the early season often promises little stability in weather conditions and the strong rays of the sun can cause severe sunburn on skin due to the winter chill now more than ever is an advantageous time to install a decorative and purposeful commercial shade structure.
Whether metal or aluminium vinyl or one of the dozen or so fabric types awnings have acquired a well-deserved niche among the different shades that most of us employ to complement our homes and places of business. Awnings are much more preferable to canopies and tents for instance when the area is against a structure or on the side of a building. This is because of two things: first having an awning is structurally more sound compared to a canopy because it is attached to the wall or a concrete structure; and second it only requires half the framing of a traditional canopy which saves space and eases installation. Fabric awnings in particular are superior to the other types depending on the environmental conditions in their area of use. Generally they are the most versatile type and can handle multiple situations.
