Awning Canopies / September 3, 2019 / Shari Nelson
A roof like structure can be less expensive than building a porch by attaching a retractable awning canopy over the patio area with little maintenance. The patio location should allow easy access to and from the indoor kitchen areas so the flow of people between is natural and direct without walking through another room or space. The flow of traffic will depend on the exact attachment and coverage of the patio retractable awning and the proximity between the patio and house. Access to the kitchen and location of the exterior doors will help in determining the preferred placement of the patio and attachment of the retractable awning. The awning comes in several standard sizes and numerous patterns and colors. The canopy material is water resistant and blocks the sun UV rays and lasts for years if properly maintained.

Remember that long before a restaurant patron has taken their first bite of bread or sipped their first cocktail they ve already surveyed the exterior of the building. Does your restaurant fit the neighborhood? Does it stand out in a productive and meaningful manner? And is the restaurant s signage appropriate for the space? Failure to pass these basic tests may mean a loss of business - something no restaurant owner wants to see happen. Awnings and canopies are ideal ways to invite a positive dining experience. Awnings are both functional and promotional items. On one hand they protect patrons from the elements providing a measure of wind shield shade during sultry summer evenings and of course protection from rain and even snow.
