Awnings maybe used for other areas other than patios. A deck may even be covered with an awning. Windows and doors can take advantage of awnings for shade and design too. Cars may be covered with a large piece. Commercial establishments including restaurants also make of awnings in larger sizes. Most of these cover items are stationary. Some awnings are also retractable and can be rolled over to a supporting structure like a wall. Windows may be covered with removable awnings as well. For outdoor purposes such as a family swim a temporary awning can be built. Awnings Canopies and Umbrellas These three all function as shades or covers for outdoor purposes. They should not be mistaken for the other though. Each one is unique on its own. Awnings are described in previous paragraphs.
But their aesthetic value is equally key. Retractable or fixed and made from a variety of materials namely aluminum fabric mesh and combinations of the three awnings can immediately set the mood via their shape and logos. Imagine you re an upscale classy Jazz/live entertainment restaurant where music is as important as food. In that case an awning that includes the graphic of a jazz ensemble or horned instruments and large musical notes might be the way to go. If going for a more subtle approach a shade structure patterned in the shape of red bricks might match an actual brick (or stone) exterior. Remember that little changes such as these can go a long way toward an entire revamp of your restaurant and its ambiance.
For one thing awnings and commercial shade structures are all about making a first impression. Remember that long before a restaurant patron has taken their first bite of bread or sipped their first cocktail they ve already surveyed the exterior of the building. Does your restaurant fit the neighborhood? Does it stand out in a productive and meaningful manner? And is the restaurant s signage appropriate for the space? Failure to pass these basic tests may mean a loss of business - something no restaurant owner wants to see happen. Awnings and canopies are ideal ways to invite a positive dining experience. Awnings are both functional and promotional items. On one hand they protect patrons from the elements providing a measure of wind shield shade during sultry summer evenings and of course protection from rain and even snow.
